Pat McAuley: My Why For Wellness
Nearly 4 years ago I discovered information that rocked my world...information that was contrary to everything I was ever taught about being healthy. After applying that information daily for just months, I had rid myself of lifelong battles with asthma, allergies, arthritis, and countless other issues. I dropped everything I was doing and set out to find answers.
Having now learned from world-renowned experts, having read thousands of nutrition studies, having interviewed hundreds of people around the globe, having helped people of all ages find wellness...I want to help more people. I want to give more people the knowledge and power to take their health into their own hands.
Myself and my wildest (but very well) friend Richie have spent the past few months working on a retreat experience, what we call a Wellness Weekend. An opportunity to skip the bar or your weekend norm and spend 3 days with us learning everything you need to know about how to live a lifetime of wellness. How to eat, how to meditate, how to move, how to think, how to sleep, how to breath. Everything.
It's in Spruce Head, Maine April 25th-28th. It's $1,000, lodging, food, etc. included, if you book your spot before March 1.
Why do I do this?
Why is sharing wellness with others so important to me?
Because I know what it's like to not be well. I know what it's like to wake up at 5AM every single day of the week and bust my ass in the gym, I know what it's like to restrict the amount of calories I consume and deprive myself, I know what it's like to try every pre-workout, protein powder, and pill only to never achieve my goals and more importantly to never be truly healthy or happy.
Let's go deeper...I know what it's like to lose loved ones to disease. Dis-ease. Dis-ease that we now know is fully preventable and often reversible with how we eat and live each day. Literally, whether you get to see your grandchildren graduate college or you're just a distant memory of their childhood is determined by what you eat, how you sleep, how you reduce stress, how you move, and other daily choices you make.
The good news is, health and wellness is actually very simple and very achievable for EVERYONE. We have much more control over our health and lives than many of us think. But you need the right information, the right tools.
Today, I know what it feels like to be well. It is the greatest gift I've ever been given. I think back and I wish I could sit down with my younger self, give him a hug, and say "relax man, you don't have to work so hard, just do this, this, and this and enjoy the ride."
I want to give you a hug too.
Step away from your normal crowd and get around my crowd. I promise you, you will leave well.
Stay Well For You
